The Solution
Aveda needed a platform to unite professional stylists. PurePro was the answer, acting as a virtual hub where stylists could advance their careers, network with colleagues, find inspiration, and broaden expertise. We built a platform that housed a comprehensive array of virtual education and e-learning courses. Additionally, the "Lookbook" feature within PurePro allowed artists and salon owners to exchange formulas, techniques, and other valuable resources. To enhance user involvement and foster a sense of community, the platform incorporates elements such as gamification, blended learning resources, surveys, tests, and social media feeds.x`
Gamification
We really wanted to encourage use on the platform so we developed a gamification aspect to help give users immediate feedback and allow them to collect badges. After seeing how well badges worked on the kobo platform, I wanted to introduce this idea to Aveda PurePro.
The Results
PurePro has successfully established itself as the central resource for all Aveda employees and salon partners worldwide. It boasts over 72,000 active users across 45 countries, with 89% of Aveda's US salons actively engaged. The platform has seen significant growth, with a 40% increase in new users, a 50% rise in monthly users, and a staggering 120% surge in traffic to the online education section. These figures underscore PurePro's critical role in the professional development of stylists and the value it provides to Aveda and its partners.
